"Cold and Flu Season"
Bear with me...I am just getting this off my chest and then moving on with life. This "cold and flu season" has SUCKED! Normally, we are a very healthy family. McKenzie had her first experience with antibiotics because of an ear infection when she was 2, and Brayden's first experience with antibiotics was mid December because of strep...a month before he was 2. We have gotten colds, but nothing too serious. So far this winter , we have gotten the flu (throwing up type) twice...but luckily Lexie and I have been able to avoid getting it (and yes, everyone but Lexie did get the flu shot...she was too young), and one time was even over Scott's grandpa's funeral, so I missed the viewing and funeral being home with sick kiddos! Brayden got Strep a week before Christmas. But the real kicker has been this last month! I got sick with a cold almost 4 weeks ago. Just a little congested and a cough. Nothing too major..or so I though! About a week after I got it, Brayden woke up all congested, and about 4 days after that, he started spiking a 103 degree fever. I took him to the doctor and his ears were fine, lungs were clear...but his throat was "disgusting" as the dr. said. He had a REAL bad sore throat and was coughing so bad, it hurt him so much. About the time he was spiking the fever, Lexie started getting congested, but was still happy and just congested. A week or so later, Scott got sick, and a couple days later Kenzie got it. She only spiked a fever of about 101...but we laughed looking at our bathroom counter as it looked like a little pharmacy with all of our Motrin, Tylenol, thermometers, medicine spoon/droppers. It has been so awful. Fevers, sore throats, congestion, a nagging cough that makes the kids cough so hard that they throw up. Kenzie ended up with an ear infection (her second one in her whole life) and is on Antibiotics, but here we all are, almost 4 weeks later, still coughing and congested. Lexie spiked a fever this afternoon and was lethargic and really fussy, so I took her back to the dr. tonight since it has been 2 weeks since her congestion started. Luckily, like Brayden, her ears and lungs are clear, so they put her on antibiotics for a sinus infection. It just breaks my heart to see my kids so sick and knowing there is nothing I can do to help them. So now, all 5 of us are on Antibiotics, just hoping and praying this goes away! I had to make a chart on my fridge just to keep track of everyone's medicine needs....just to make sure I keep track of who I give what to when! I am so done with this stupid crap! I understand that people get sick, it is just a part of life...but this is so ridiculous! 4 weeks is way to long to feel like crap myself, having to take care of 3 kids and a husband who feel like crap, and aren't sleeping well! I am so tired...physically, mentally, and emotionally! Anyway, if you don't see us around....I am seriously contemplating going into hiding the rest of the "cold and flu" season! I am so ready for more than a week long break in between illnesses since that is about how this whole winter has been. Anyway....I don't even know if this makes any sense....but vent done...

NO FUN! We missed you and your family at the funeral.
There was a time a few years ago Ryan and I just couldn't shake a cold...come to find out, we had a really bad case of mold where we were living. Our apartment just didn't get enough ventalation after we showered and left for the day. After we got it cleaned up, our 'colds' went away...just a thought. I know I really have to watch my boys' bedroom, cause it's small, can get stuffy, and the windows are terrible - the tracks have moisture and mold in them almost constantly...just a thought.
Good luck! I hope you all get feeling better, and SOON!!!
Oh my gosh you have had a terrible time. It's so difficult when you don't feel good and all the kids are sick at the same time. You hang in there... Love you all tons!!
A picture of the drug counter please and the fridge note to self... I miss seeing you guys! Get better so we can come and visit!
Yep, that officially sucks! I say bring on summer!! No more winter sounds great to me :) Take care. Oh and I'm with Cathy...I'd love to see some pictures of your pharmacy :) Sounds really funny!
I've started bringing Kate to sacrament meeting and every time somebody coughs I think, "should I really be here with her?" It scares me to have a sick baby. We have enough trouble getting sleep when we're all healthy, I can't imagine what it would be like if one of us got sick
