On Labor Day, my family decided to go down to Yuba Lake for the day. It has been forever since we've been down there so it sounded great! My sister and brother-in-law brought down their boat, we took down our 4-wheeler (There are ATV trails all over the place), and my parents brought down tons of food and beach toys. It was so nice because this lake, you just pull your vehicle, RV, Trailer, whatever you have, right up to the shore line! There is no parking lot, so it was nice having the 4-wheelers and car just right there on the beach! I was a little nervous because it was supposed to be cold that day, but it was PERFECT weather on the beach. It did get a little cold while you were on the boat, if you were wet, but we just put long sleeve shirts on the kids (under their life vests, but over their swim suits) and they were just perfect! The kids LOVED the boat and playing on the beach! We were there for just over 8 hours and they played hard the whole entire time! The kids even went tubing behind the boat! My sister Stacy was with McKenzie and Scott was with Brayden and both tubes even flipped and the kids went in the lake (they both hate getting their faces wet and hate swimming in water deeper than their knees), but they did great! Scott learned how to wake surf and did awesome!! Unfortunately, I didn't take my camera out on the boat, so I don't have any pictures of the kids tubing or Scott wake surfing! The only pictures I have were from the shore, and since Brayden and McKenzie were out on the boat for most of the time, they aren't in too many pictures! Hopefully someone else in my family took more pictures on the boat! It was a great day and like I said before, the kids were in HEAVEN!!! They were so content to just sit and play in the water and on the beach. They had to ride on the boat every time a group went out!

Our lovely "suncreen job" Ooops! At least it was only her face that got sunburned!

How fun!! I'm so jealous. I'm despirately trying to talk my parents into buying a boat because I love boating and we can't afford one. Maybe one day. Isn't it so hard to get sunscreen around their little eyes without getting it IN them?
putting sunblock on small children is the worst. luckily kate has never burned. i think we're also lucky with the fact that she has a complexion that doesn't burn easily
