Catch up
So, the last couple of weeks have been CRAZY....between getting ready for Christmas, my grandpa passing away, trying to get everything put together for the new year for Primary (which has taken A LOT of time), making over 600 sugar cookies (and chocolate dipping them) for our Primary kids and the Primary board, Elders Quorum bowling party, wedding receptions, New Years Eve celebrations, attending 2 baptisms today of adorable girls in our ward (one of which I had to speak at), I'll just say I'm ready for January to be a little SLOWER!!! Christmas was great! We started the morning off doing our "Santa" stuff, then ate a delicious breakfast. After we ate, we opened more gifts and then waited (for like 30 min) for my family to come over. My family came over and we called my little brother who is on a mission to Brazil (who only has less than 5 months left!! CRAZY), ate lunch and visited for a little bit (while others were talking to Jim), then they went home, we put the younger 2 kids down for naps, then Scott's family came out after naps and we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with them! The kids had a great Christmas and love everything they got! We were completely spoiled and had a great day spent with our families! Our New Year's Eve was great as well! We made plans with some friends, and decided to keep it very low key and do something with the kids as well, so we just went over to our friends house and had dinner and just let the kids play and we just chatted and laughed all night! We (both us and our friends)weren't sure how long our kids would last since they usually go to bed at 8ish, but we figured we'd just go til the kids were cranky! The kids had a BALL playing. Our friends have 3 kids as well (the oldest two the same age as McKenzie and Brayden), and all of the kids played SO well together and didn't want the night to end! They even made plans to have a sleepover.....too bad the parents didn't go for that! They played happily til about 10:45pm, then they started getting a little more tired, so we decided to call it a night! It was a great night and a great way to bring in the new year....even if it did end an hour early! Here's to a great 2011!
